Wally: The dog who inspired an animal sanctuary

This is the true story of how a stray dog inspired the creation of an animal sanctuary. Perfect for kids who love animals and want to learn about the day-to-day life at a sanctuary.

Ian Womack, a British Army veteran, came to Australia from England on a working holiday. Whilst working in Far North Queensland, he met a stray dog called Wally who was injured and without a permanent home. Ian decided to take care of Wally and together they travelled around Australia.

Rescuing Wally made Ian realise he wanted to help other animals too so he decided to stay in Australia and set up an animal sanctuary in Tasmania. Eventide Sanctuary now provides a forever home for over 200 animals.

Find out how Ian set up the sanctuary, what Wally gets up to, and meet the other animals who live there.

All profits from the sale of this book go towards the feeding and care of the sanctuary animals.
